In this talk, we will be delving into the transformative potential of the amalgamation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) – collectively referred to as AIoT – for manufacturers. In the competitive landscape where products are easily replicated and substituted, there is an exigent need to move beyond traditional functionality-based offerings. This talk will explore how OEMs can harness the power of AIoT to extend the value-add scope of their products, leveraging embedded sensors and data streams to offer advanced services that provide not only intrinsic value but also business insights, process optimizations, and a deeper level of customer engagement. We’ll discuss how these strategic shifts can help manufacturers justify their market position and outmaneuver low-cost competitors, transitioning from a mere component supplier to an integrated system provider, thus driving business resilience and growth.

• The Pop in Your Job (100-150 words: What drives you? Why do you love your job):
As the leader of Digital Technologies at maxon international, the most exciting aspect of my role is the opportunity to catalyze transformation. The exhilarating moment is when our digital strategies yield tangible outcomes, enhancing business efficiencies and creating disruptive value propositions – creating better working conditions for my colleagues, and higher value to our customers. It's an incredible experience to witness the digital and physical worlds intertwine, leading to the birth of innovative solutions – sometimes as simple as digitally transformed, formerly cumbersome process, now putting a smile on the faces of the colleagues that no longer have to deal with it. Equally rewarding is my role as a lecturer, where I help mold the future experts in Digital Production Management, thereby contributing to the evolution of the industry.
